Huntington Beach Burger

Huntington Beach- sun, sand, salt water and cheese strips. Several years ago now we made a trip to what will always be home deep in our hearts. No matter how long or how far this beautiful stretch of beach will be home away from the Cottage, but when we are away we try to bring the flavors to the Cottage and so we introduce this delicious burger!

Ingredients:

Lettuce
Beef Pattie
Cheesy Hamburger Buns (recipe below)

Sauce:

Ketchup
Hot Sauce (to taste)

Directions:

Mix well.

Cheesy Hamburger Buns:

Ingredients:

1 1/8 Cup Spring Water
3/4 Tbsp Raw Sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil melted but not hot
1 1/4 Teaspoons Himalayan Salt
3 Cups Organic Flour
2 Teaspoons Dry Yeast
1/4 Cup Cheddar Cheese

Directions:

We put the water, sugar, and oil in the bread machine. Follow with flour, salt, yeast and cheese. Set bread maker to "dough" cycle. When the dough is finished take the it out of the bread pan and make 5-6 dough rounds that are of about equal size. Place on your cookie sheet and cover with a light cloth (I use flour sack towels or my great Aunt Anna's apron ... covered with love, right?) in a place that is warm and not drafty. Let rise until the rolls are doubled at least in size. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F. When they have risen, uncover the rolls and place in a hot oven for 20 minutes. They will be just lightly golden but not brown and will be soft. Turn out onto a rack and slice in half to use as a burger bun.

One Ocean Sea World Show

Last year we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Sea World, for the first time in many years. As always it wasn't a letdown!

While there we decided to watch the One Ocean show, dad wanted to sit in the splash zone- we out voted him. Somehow gallons of water in the middle of January and cameras don't seem to go well together.

This show was fun, upbeat and if you happen to sit in the splash zone- wet! These creatures are amazing up close!

It made me wish we had more time to spend here.

They are such amazing creatures.  So huge and powerful - so beautiful.

Every time I see them and makes me love the creatures of the ocean more and more.

Time for a snack. I could use one too, just not raw fish!

Dolphin Show At Sea World

Sea World has to be one of my favorite places! I love how magical it is, like being a kid... anything could happen. I've been here twice in my life, once for my second birthday and the second time for an early birthday present for my 18th birthday. I have to say, it's a great birthday present.

This show was amazing! I absolutely love dolphins so this was spectacular!

This show is so fun, and probably my favorite of all the ones Sea World offers.

I always liked dolphins but I really fell in love with them after Sea World. They taught me a lot about marine life and made me passionate about them.

They are creative and smart and love to have fun.

I could not believe their agility and their relationship with one another.

SeaWorld | California Trip Day 5

Darling it's better, down where it's wetter, under the sea. Admit it. You heard Sebastian from little mermaid's voice in your head didn't you?

Today we are heading to SeaWorld!

The last time we were here was for my second birthday.

There aren't a lot of people here because it rained this morning. I feel a lot better this morning.

But I can't smell anything. Grrrrrr! This darn cold morphs into something else everyday! We are just a skip from the beach, Mrs. Cottage and Brianna keep saying it smells wonderful. I can't smell anything so I don't know, but I can taste it! That's better than nothing I guess.

By the way, those cleaner fish in the picture up above were awesome! Seriously I want some!

There are so many amazing creatures here! Some I wouldn't want to meet in the wild, though. Some of the fish were absolutely stunning!

This pretty bird just was hanging out watching us as we said hello to the sea lions.  He didn't mind getting close en…
