Our Favorite Farmhouse Autumn Decor

I have to admit fall is calling me for a while- can you hear it? "Cheyenne, you must decorate. Look at the pumpkins- wouldn't they be gorgeous in the Cottage?" It's a voice that I must obey like Christine in Phantom Of The Opera it calls my heart to surrender and sing- ahem decorate you don't want to hear me attempt to sing like she does...

Brianna keeps having to drag me out of the fall decor section when we are at the store- I'll have her on my side soon don't worry. All I have to do is pull out her "Morning Pumpkin" mug and she will be on board. Did I mention Walmart has some adorably cute farmhouse fall decor in stock? I picked up a galvanized blessings sign last week that I am just in love with (Pix to come!)

Today I thought I would share some of my favorite autumn items from Antique Farmhouse. I love this store so much, they always have amazing goodies to drool over! Now you can drool with me!

This article contains affiliate links, affiliate links cost you nothing extra but help us to keep bringing you great content.

Colorful Pumpkins
I love how you can use this year after year so there is no waste! Plus those colors are stunning!

Pinecone and Pumpkin Wreaths
*SWOON* Perfection right here, this stunning wreath is enough to make me pull out the pumpkin candles.

See what I mean about drooling? These pumpkins are unique and you don't have to replace them year after year.

Tell me I don't need this pillow in my life! I just love it!!

I'm drooling over this gorgeous piece of garland, I love all the detail and texture!

This reminds me of my turkeys growing up (gosh I miss them!) so of course, I love it! It would look beautiful as part of a centerpiece or on the mantel.

I love the colors to this sign, all the traditional colors are present but they aren't overpowering.

Isn't this cart adorable? I see it loaded down with pumpkins!

I can't pick which garland is my favorite! I love the colors and textures of these! They would be perfect on any mantel.

We need this for our front porch I think! Can't you see it there? With lots of pumpkins and our little wagon.

This is another fun sign, especially if you want to forgo a lot of oranges.

Can you tell I really love pumpkins? I love all the different shapes and colors! They just make me happy.

The perfect reminder of why we celebrate this season, I would add this to my mantel decor or place it on one of our side tables.
Last but not least these adorable stacked pumpkins, the colors are gorgeous and I love the reminder it gives. In the house or by the door these would add the perfect touch of fall to your space.

Encouraging Worship In Our Children's Lives

Our faith is really important to us here at the cottage and worship at home and at church is a big part of that.

We wanted to instill strong roots of faith in the girls young and encourage their growth and devotions and always wanted to make sure the children, even the littles before they were old enough to take notes on a sermon got the message of the sermon.

How I Encouraged Worship In My Kids Lives #RosevineCottageGirls #Devotional #Faith #Christian #Worship #God #Truth #TeachingKidsToWorship #FaithBlogger

I didn't send the girls to children's church but kept them with us. I really wanted them to experience the true essence of our faith and if the gospel was good enough for the first-century believers, why was it not also good for our children. I know that children are very important to Jesus and I doubt very much he had a special gospel just for them. We started out very young just reading the bible to them and this we did their whole childhood. I brought them with us into the sanctuary of the church and there they learned how to behave themselves in public and how to glean from the Word of God. I bought special drawing pads and a small package of colored pencils that we only used for church. We had a special bag we took to church with us on Sunday. Once we got settled I would take out the drawing pad and pencils and would have the children draw the sermon. I was always amazed at the depth of their understanding and how it really made them remember what had been taught that week.

Another way we reinforced faith was what the girls watched. We got a lot of good programming online and ordered cd's from places like "Nest Entertainment" and "Our Story Hour". We filled their shelves with sweet books that talked about faith and people of the bible and when they got older we bought deeper books. Ones like Foxes Book of Martyrs, Jesus Freaks, Books by C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity, Books Like a Case For Faith and a Case for Christ and others to nurture their faith and give them a firm foundation and a reason for the hope that is within them.

We would surround them with positive music choices and great books on tape while we traveled near and far or just shut off the radio and talk and listen. They really have such amazing insight if we will just stop and listen

When You Are Afraid To Hope

I think I am afraid to yearn for anythingLife has battered me so much.
The waves have swept me off my feet.
The Riptide has pulled me out into the deep.

#Devotional #Faith #Truth #Hope #AfraidToHope #God
My feet can no longer reach the security of solid ground.
I'm like a woman on thin ice- afraid to breathe.
Afraid to move too quickly

I am afraid to hope.
Afraid to dream of a future where the sun will once again rise.
Where laughter will once again bubble up from within me for I fear I can never again laugh.

Do you know what I mean?

I am here and afraid. I feel small and frightened by the chaos around me.

Like a tiny bird shivering at the presence of the towering human.
God forgive me, I'm afraid

Psalm 13:5-6 New International Version (NIV)

But I trust in your unfailing love;

Rose & Gold 21st Birthday Party

Last Saturday was our 21st birthday, this year we went with Brianna's favorite colors rose and gold and a few of her favorite things. I think it came out beautifully! A touch of whimsical, a touch of girly and a touch of travel!

We covered the table in 3 different vintage lace tablecloths we picked up at yard sales, we used mismatched silver and wood chargers and dishes in the same colors as our decorations to give it a vintage feel.

#RoseAndGold #Birthday #Party #Decorating #Event #Cottage #ShabbyChic #Vintage #21stBirthday #Decorations #Pink

For the centerpiece, we used these two suitcases we found at Ross. They are the perfect touch of rosy pinks and travel! We also added a vintage camera Mr. Cottage brought home from his trip to Germany, a silver plane sculpture we also used light pink roses and a gold heart.

To one side we placed a gold clock and a lacy cake plate, on the other a vase of baby roses and bell-shaped flowers we picked up at Kroger, a silver cocoa pot and a silver and crystal candelabra.

From the ceiling, we hung light pink balloons and gold confetti balloons with gold disks from Walmart.

Down the center of the table, we lay a piece of greenery and then wove a strand of LED fairy lights with them.

We bought the cake and sparkler candles from Publix (the gold ones are from Walmart). We used this beautiful rose pink and gold wrapping paper Brianna found at Dollar Tree to wrap the gifts.
