Companion Planting | Part 2

It's garden time! Spring is either knocking on our doors or is right around the corner, so we are sharing nine things to plant together. Let's face it, sometimes its hard to figure out what to plant where. Hopefully you caught part one of our series (if not you can catch it here), here are 9 things that get along in the garden and will help you save space:

  • Tomatoes
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Chives
  • Cucumber 
  • Melon
  • Onion
  • Peas
  • Peppers

Smaller plants (such as onions and chives) can be planted around the base of tomatoes to save space. Or you can plant creepers like melons and cucumber for an easy ground cover to help prevent weeds growing in.

Another group that are companionable are:


  • Squash
  • Celery
  • Corn 
  • Melon

    Oh I love companion Gardening, it totally works and is so great for your garden. Great Idea about planting Onions around the base of the tomatoes, I am going to do that when I plant them in spring

    I like the idea of putting squash around the tomatoes. I live where extreme heat and drought is an issue, and this should help shade the roots! Thanks, for sharing!

    Companion gardening is so interesting to me. Do you have any suggestions for herbs that do well protecting leafy plants like spinach from bugs?
