Smaller plants (such as onions and chives) can be planted around the base of tomatoes to save space. Or you can plant creepers like melons and cucumber for an easy ground cover to help prevent weeds growing in.

Oh I love companion Gardening, it totally works and is so great for your garden. Great Idea about planting Onions around the base of the tomatoes, I am going to do that when I plant them in spring
