I hated my photo taken ... I was one of those people. I hated my photo taken always. Until I met a lovely lady from South Africa. We connected when her sister passed away and she had written the most lovely tribute to her on a Scrapbooking Group site that I belonged to. I was touched so deeply. When we started sharing letters I was told by Laurette to snap and snap and snap and look at myself. To see what was good. To look past flaws. And for the sake of those that love me take pics. I look back now. My years of very low self esteem and I see it. When I started to take charge of myself, my feelings, my life and forget about what other people thought and finally be myself something changed and what was the most amazing is that people saw it. They said that there was something different about me. That I actually radiated a kind of joy. I look at pictures from before and I see it and my unhealthiness which was mostly all a frame of mind...life is amazing but we have to choose to embrace it. Choose to be kind, love others and love ourselves, too. I was told by a young fella at about the age of 16 if I didn't learn to love myself it would be hard for others to love me too. What a statement but I have never forgotten it. I so badly wanted to communicate that at the age of 50 something I finally got it, got what he was telling me. Unfortunately when I connected with his children after a long search I discovered that he had passed away in his 30's. I was heartbroken...another lesson in life...I really appreciate everything about you beautiful inside and out Rosevine Cottage Girls. Bless you for connecting with so many...I for one am blessed to know you...hugs!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17742896216631193601noreply@blogger.com
