Green Beans Cottage Style

At the Cottage we love to grow our own food as much as possible and one thing we grow is heirloom green beans.

This variety is called Cherokee Trail of Tears and they are such a beautiful bean and very tasty.

Since we grow our beans we do a lot of canning. This is what we do to prepare our pre-canned beans. You can do the same with freezer beans from the market, just make sure to simmer them well.

  3. Yum .. we make them somewhat similiar .. and then we Fry them .. Yep grab your cast iron skillet put in some chopped sweet onion, cut some bacon into small pieces and cook till limp .. then add you green beans .. Pepper and Garlic Powder or Garlic Salt we stay away from the salt .. but either would work and cook till browned or even slightly blackened my favorite .. they are absolutely delicious !
