This recipe is the perfect mix of tart cranberries, juicy pears, and flaky crust. It's absolutely delicious, so easy to make and did we mention it smells heavenly?! Perfect for Thanksgiving or even Christmas!
Filling:
Ingredients:
3 Cups Raw Sugar3 Cups Spring Water + 1 tablespoon
3 Cups Fresh Cranberries
5 Cups of Pears Peeled and sliced
1 Tablespoon Corn Starch
1 Cinnamon Stick
Directions:
Dissolve sugar in water and bring to a boil, add cranberries and pears bring to a boil again. Mix cornstarch and water, and add to pear mixture while stirring. Cook for 10 minutes or until thick and bubbly.Crust:
Ingredients:
1 1/4 Cups Organic Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/3 Cups Organic Butter cold
3-4 Tablespoons Cold Water
Stir together flour and salt, slice butter into chunks and add to flour. Cut in the butter until crumbly, then add water. Mix until combined, refrigerate for 1 hour.
Assembly:
Roll out pie crust and place in a pie pan. Pour filling over the crust, and fold edges up. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until golden.
