Rosevine Cottage Girls Lasagne Recipe

This is a recipe that has been part of the family for years but it has changed as people have added their own touch to it. The sauce in this one has become our own after Auntie Betty stepped into our lives and taught us how to make her sauce and even that became our own. So, put on some Frank Sinatra and head over and learn the art of the sauce.  Click the word sauce and get it simmering first. Then come back here.

Ok, the sauce is in the pot simmering?

Wonderful!

Ingredients:

Lasagne Noodles
Ground Beef or Pork
Cheese
Cottage Cheese
Himalayan Pink Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Parsley
Eggs
Sauce

Directions:

Now fill up another large saucepan with water and add a dash of salt and a bit of olive oil and put it on to boil. Now we are ready to work some magic.

In a skillet on your stove place your ground beef or ground pork or combination of the two. Season this will some Himalayan pink salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley. Let it brown and drain the meat.

When the water is boiling place your pasta in the pan and cook to the directions on the box, usually 8-10 minutes. Check to make sure it is done and drain. Set aside.

Get your cottage or ricotta cheese and add 2 eggs to it and 1/2 cup each of Parmesan and Romano grated cheese and stir and set aside.

You are going to want to get a 9x13 casserole dish. In the dish place about three lasagna noodles to cover the bottom of the pan overlapping slightly.

On top of this place 1/2 of your Breakstone's cottage cheese or ricotta cheese mix spreading evenly over the pasta.

Ladle a bit of sauce over the cottage cheese and then top with 1/2 of your meat mixture. Top with a portion of your cheese (1/3). Repeat this for each layer. When you are at the top layer place your pasta, then sauce then the remaining cheese. Add extra cheese if you like!
