Valentine Envelope Treats

Valentine's Day is right around the corner! This is one of my favorite Valentine treats, super easy to make and so tasty. Sweet filling covered with a flaky crust. This recipe is great for kids, we took some to our little cousins and they loved them!  It's perfect for get-togethers, work, neighbors or just you.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 Cups Organic Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/3 Cups Organic Butter
3-4 Tablespoons Cold Water
Favorite filling or preserves
Heart sprinkles

In a medium size, bowl place your flour and salt. Stir and add half of your butter and cut in. Add water and stir. Slice the other half of the butter into thin slices and knead into dough. Place in the fridge so the butter can harden. Roll out and cut 5 rectangles. Spoon your favorite jelly or preserves into the middle, don't overfill. Fold up the edges to make an envelope. Press a heart sprinkle into the dough. Brush with egg whites. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden at 350.

  2. Those look so cute. Ironic! I'm making my Valentine Day cards (well I was until New Years Eve when I got the flu) and it's a card with pretty paper and a tiny envelope I made and it'll have hearts coming out of it. I'll post it to you here or on facebook. Have a good day girls!!! You brighten my day just to let you know.
